Serhiy Tokarev Offers a Full Two-Year MBA Scholarship at UC Berkeley Haas

Serhiy Tokarev, founder of the Tokarev Foundation, and SET University have launched a scholarship for the MBA programme at UC Berkeley Haas. The school ranks among the world’s top ten business schools according to rankings published by Bloomberg and the Financial Times. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the two-year programme and is open to all Ukrainian citizens, regardless of age or place of residence. The scholarship recipient will gain access to venture capital networks, the entrepreneurial community and technology companies in Silicon Valley.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

In addition to UC Berkeley Haas’s standard admission requirements, applicants must propose an idea that could contribute to Ukraine’s technology sector through investment, education, science or entrepreneurship. The school’s requirements include English proficiency at C1 level, a bachelor’s degree and translated academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation, motivation essays and GMAT or GRE results. Applicants must also have at least two years of full-time professional experience.

After enrolment, the scholarship recipient will become an ambassador for the Ukrainian tech community. They will speak publicly about their study experience, attend conferences and participate in other activities organised by SET University and the Tokarev Foundation.

“The MBA programme at UC Berkeley Haas will give the scholarship recipient access to venture capital and the Silicon Valley community, enabling them to build a professional network that can last for decades. This is one of the scarcest resources available to any modern entrepreneur,” says Serhiy Tokarev.

The organisers add that the scholarship covers tuition fees only. Applicants are responsible for all other expenses, preparing the required documents and completing the admission process.

The application and funding process has three stages:

  1. Applicants submit an online form on the organisers’ website.

  2. The SET University team contacts applicants to provide a consultation and a complete list of requirements.

  3. If the applicant is admitted, the Tokarev Foundation covers their tuition fees.

“Education is an investment in the future. This scholarship was created to enable Ukrainians to study at UC Berkeley Haas. Ultimately, the goal is to bring capital and knowledge back to Ukraine,” adds Serhiy Tokarev.

Applications to the 2026–2027 MBA programme are accepted in two rounds: Round 1 closes on 10 September 2026, and Round 2 closes on 7 January 2027. Scholarship applications must therefore be submitted on the organisers’ website by 3 September 2026 for Round 1 and 31 December 2026 for Round 2.
