Cycle achieves SOC 2 Type 1: Strengthening our commitment to data security and system availability

Cycle recently went through a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 1 audit and we've got the report. It’s an important step in our continuous commitment to data security and system availability. But are we just checking boxes for the sake of boxes or is there more behind it?

Exploring Cron Function Containers

Function containers on Cycle have always been the efficient way to run batch jobs and workloads, with far more customization than traditional FaaS or serverless. What they couldn't do was run themselves. Over the past year, team after team told us the same thing: they wanted these functions on a schedule without standing up and babysitting a cron service. As of this release, Cycle fully supports CRON scheduled function containers.

Our Newest Infrastructure Partner: Cherry Servers

We're thrilled to announce that we've added Cherry Servers, a European infrastructure provider, as another native integration to the Cycle platform. With this integration, Cycle clients have more choice in where, and how, they deploy their applications as Cherry offers a variety of bare metal server configurations across 7 data centers located around the globe. For a more formal announcement, please see our joint press release with Cherry Servers.

Top Kubernetes Alternatives in 2026.

Key Takeaways In modern software delivery the pressure to iterate quickly is real. Kubernetes sparked a revolution in container orchestration, and it remains a huge forward step for many teams. But the truth is, adopting Kubernetes is not a guarantee that you'll suddenly move faster or reduce pain. Managing a Kubernetes cluster at scale requires deep expertise, dedicated operations, and often more overhead than many organizations anticipate. This has led many companies to explore Kubernetes alternatives.

Should you self-host your Git repos? We are, and here's why.

Git is decentralized by design, yet most organizations have funneled their entire source of truth (repositories, CI triggers, access control, release tooling) onto one third-party platform that nobody on the team operates or can inspect. That concentration was a fair trade when self-hosting meant adding massive capex overhead, but with modern architectures and platforms, that's no longer the case.

Introducing Cycle's European Control Plane: Strict data sovereignty, lower latencies, and more

We're thrilled to announce that Cycle's European Control Plane is now live! While a few organizations have been utilizing it over the past month, we're eager to officially open access to all teams. Before diving deeper into the "why," let's clarify what a Cycle Control Plane actually is. If you visit our status page, you'll see a list of the core services powering Cycle. These services include everything from our APIs to our 'factory' build systems.

A New Era of Linux Kernel Vulnerabilities

There have been TWO major kernel vulnerabilities announced this week. Copy-Fail (CVE-2026-31431) was announced on April 30th. Dirty Frag (CVE-2026-43284), also known as 'Copy Fail 2: Electric Boogaloo' announced literally hours ago. Both have already been patched on Cycle, and our users can receive this update simply by restarting their nodes. The Linux patch was released less than an two hours ago, and we're the first to get it to our customers.

Human First, AI Second: Cycle's Approach to AI Coding in 2026

It is easier than ever to launch a product from scratch. Today, AI can make your team of two feel like a team of ten almost overnight. Enterprises across the tech industry are completely restructuring engineering teams to double down on AI coding, often incentivizing engineers for the sheer amount of code they push. The AI revolution is incredible. So, you would be crazy not to hop on the vibe coding train right? Well it depends on what exactly you are building.

Top 10 Container Orchestration Tools & Platforms Worth Checking Out in 2026

Sources: G2 reviews, vendor documentation, 2026 market data. Docker's release in 2013 made Linux namespaces and cgroups accessible without deep kernel expertise, and container adoption took off fast. The value was clear: one portable unit with everything the process needs, running consistently across any host. Teams that were previously shipping VMs with bundled OS, runtime, and application code finally had a better option, and they took it.
