Apple made plenty of announcements last week at their Worldwide Developer Conference; from Apple Intelligence, to the upcoming iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, and many more targeting end users and the Apple developer community. While we can’t recap every single feature and update, I wanted to highlight a handful of them that will affect any administrators using Apple devices in their environment, as well as the tools used to manage those devices.

Last week, on June 3 -5, I attended the Gartner Security and Risk Summit in National Harbor, MD to learn about the latest trends and happenings in security. One thing was clear, artifical intelligence (AI) is the hot topic along with the growing cybersecurity staff shortage due to burnout and lack of talent.

Dan Toomey, Senior Integration Architect at Deloitte Australia, kicked off the session by highlighting the essential role of business rules in software development. He emphasized the significance of managing evolving and complex business rules, advocating for the use of effective tools like Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS) to safeguard code and services.

Slovo Koltovich, Principal GPM at Microsoft, delivered the keynote at Integrate 2024. He began by discussing Azure Integration Services (AIS), a comprehensive platform enabling the creation of tailored solutions to meet unique requirements. The primary advantage of AIS lies in its focus on security and compliance. With nearly 800 connectors, AIS facilitates connections to numerous data sources. Microsoft invests billions annually in security, with thousands of personnel dedicated to it.

Komodor’s own Marino Wijay and other community members share insights from KubeCon EU 2024, exploring the latest developments in cloud-native technology and their experiences. Marino and the team will be having discussions on emerging trends, innovative solutions, and more in this engaging session.

It was great to be back at DrupalCon Portland 2024, drawing together a diverse mix of Drupal enthusiasts, developers, and industry leaders under one roof. The buzz of new conversations and reuniting friends in the convention halls excites me every year. I returned to Portland for the third year and immediately reminisced on the conference that started it all, DrupalCon Portland 2022. I was back in the place that started my love for the Drupal community!

Over 30,000 people flocked to Las Vegas to see the latest and greatest from Google Cloud and its partners at Google Cloud Next 2024. As a long-time Google Cloud partner and recipient of two Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year awards this year, we were there in full force to showcase our unified observability and security solutions and engage with the Google Cloud community.

April marked the return of the Embedded Open-Source Summit, this year in Seattle. I was lucky enough to be able to attend and split my time between the Memfault booth in the exposition hall and many of the captivating presentations. I recently had the privilege of attending KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024 in Paris. The conference, hosted by the Linux Foundation, marked the 10th anniversary of Kubernetes. Here are the key takeaways and highlights from the conference.

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of traveling to Nuremberg, Germany to attend Embedded World. If you have not heard about it before, Embedded World1 is the largest trade show in the embedded systems industry. This year, over 35,000 people attended and 1,100 businesses exhibited at the Nuremberg Messe.
