Lumigo: Troubleshooting AWS Serverless Applications
In this 2-hour follow-along workshop, you will learn how to add observability to a serverless application and troubleshoot problems such as Lambda timeouts, slow response time, cold starts, and debug errors in the business logic.
AWS Serverless Hero, Yan Cui, will lead the workshop and will be available for a live Q&A throughout it. After the workshop, we will have breakout sessions where our serverless experts will help you implement monitoring and debugging in your own dev or production environment.
There will be a raffle among participants and for three of the all-new XBOX SERIES X (release: Nov 10, 2020)! One will be raffled among all participants, and two among the breakout session participants.
Workshop pre-requisites:
- Install Node.js 12.x, from http://nodejs.org
- Install VS Code, from https://code.visualstudio.com
- Set up an AWS Account via https://aws.amazon.com
- Set up an admin user profile with the AWS CLI https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/userguide/cli-chap-install.html
Some of the activities we will do in the workshop include:
- Deploy the Wild Rydes demo app
- Investigate latency and other problems using CloudWatch Logs and X-Ray
- Sign up to Lumigo and connect IAM role
- Connect the Lumigo tracer to the project using the Serverless-Lumigo plugin and redeploy the project
- Debug issues with Lumigo
