We explore how our brand-new fleet of mobile computers—including the TC501 and TC701—are designed from the ground up for on-device AI. Equipped with advanced memory and dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs), these devices process data locally at lightning-fast speeds. By keeping processing local, there is no need to send sensitive enterprise data to the cloud and wait for a response; frontline workers get the immediate feedback they need to complete tasks faster and with fewer errors. We also examine how on-device AI agents consume real-time data from the devices' unique built-in sensors—seamlessly combining barcode scanning, cameras, and voice with advanced enterprise capabilities like integrated RFID, 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensors, gyroscopes, and precise locationing.
