RUM Metrics That Matter for User Experience and Revenue

Why does a page that scores well in testing still draw complaints from customers about slowness? A lab test runs on one fast machine over a stable connection. Customers use older phones, congested mobile networks and browsers loaded with extensions, so their experience can only be measured on their own devices. Real user monitoring captures that experience, and it produces a long list of measurements.

How Alert Suppression Pauses Alerts During Planned Work Without Losing Visibility

How many pages did your on-call engineer get during the last planned firmware upgrade on a core switch? The device stops responding and every dependent check fails. Soon the on-call phone is buzzing with alerts for a change that was approved last week. Alert suppression is a time-limited pause on alerts for a condition you already know about, such as planned work or an issue under investigation. And what is alert suppression from the engineer's side of the console?

Myna speech-to-text is now available as a technology preview

A few months ago, we introduced Myna, our project to bring private, local speech-to-text dictation to Ubuntu Desktop. Named after the speech-mimicking myna bird, Myna is an optional Ubuntu 26.10 feature that offers real-time visual feedback during speech recognition. Since then, Myna has grown into something you can install and use on your desktop. Today, we’re making it available as a technology preview to the wider Ubuntu community.

The October 8, 2026 Google Cloud Storage Outage

Ask Your Logs: The AI Assistant Comes to Papertrail

It is 2 a.m., and something is wrong. The answer is somewhere in your logs, but finding it means guessing keywords, remembering search syntax, and scrolling through thousands of lines. Your systems keep growing, so you have more data than ever and less clarity when it counts. Today, we are bringing the AI assistant, the SolarWinds in-product AI agent (also known as SW1 in earlier previews), to Papertrail. Ask your logs a question in plain English and get an answer, with a link back to the evidence.

Cut your debug time by reproducing production on demand

If a bug only shows up under real production conditions, the fastest path to a fix is removing the guesswork about those conditions, not layering on more debugging tools. This guide walks through what changes when every branch gets its own preview environment, a full clone of production available on demand, and what that actually looks like day to day.

Agentic AI Is Becoming the Enterprise's Connective Tissue. Governance Has to Move Into the Flow.

McKinsey's 2026 tech report calls agentic AI the 'connective tissue of the enterprise.' But agents that act at machine speed need governance at machine speed too. Static controls won't work for dynamic agents—active, in-flow guardrails must run before the action, not after.
