The Douglas Omaha Technology Commission (DOTComm) manages the IT services for the City of Omaha and Douglass County. Founded in 2001 the Organisation brought together the services previously delivered by two separate providers through a merger. This initiative was designed to deliver economies of scale, reduce costs and improve service provision by increasing the capacity of the organization.
2018 was a busy and productive year in StatusHub. We received a lot of great feedback and suggestions from our customers and we would like to say thanks. Today, we want to share our most recent updates and give a sneak peek of upcoming improvements.
After some hard worked weeks we are able to give you Statuspal 2.0! This release features some big changes especially on the themes side. We have re-engineered from the ground up how we render your status page so you can write fully customized themes that look exactly how you want, and modify the existing ones too.
Although the main focus of StatusHub is incident communication, it compliments each 5 activities of Incident Management: Identification, Categorization, Prioritization, Response and Communication with the user community through the life of the incident.
We are happy to announce that Roles and Permissions are now available for every user. You can manage your team members and their access and usage of hubs in the Control Panel.
Email arrives constantly; when we’re in the office or “on the go”. More than occasionally a new email might be briefly overlooked if we’re working another task or it just gets lost in the “noise”. Whatever the case, they don’t always get the attention that an incoming text message might.
Continuing deeper exploration of some of our exciting new features, today I’ll be presenting Notification Attachments and demonstrating how your status page can, once again, hopefully make your job a little easier. We recently had a customer ask: “Is there a way to show a maintenance page instead of [just] an icon if the web services are down?”. Further investigation revealed he was looking for the ability to provide more information to his users regarding the nature of a system outage.
StatusGator has a few thousand users. Recently I grew curious as to where you all are. Surely it would be interesting to learn a little about where they are from. The results are pretty interesting. I’m pleased to report StatusGator helps users in 85 different countries!
We’re happy to announce the general availability of Pingdom & custom metrics on Statuspal. This means that your are now able to configure two new types on metrics (on top of monitored service metrics), metrics coming from your Pingdom account and metrics that you can manually push periodically, both types of metrics will look similar in your status page. Example Pingom metrics chart You should be able to find a new menu “Metrics” under your status page’s dashboard.
As you may be aware, we recently rolled out some exciting new features to your off-site status page. In the coming weeks, I’ll be highlighting some of these and taking a closer look at how each may be used to enhance your experience with StatusKeeper and hopefully make your job a little easier.
